Chapel Dedication

On Tuesday, June 30th Bishop Lori dedicated our new chapel in honor of Saint Philip Neri.  The altar and decorations were executed by members of the parish.  A first class relic of St. Philip Neri was placed in the altar.  The relic comes from the Chiesa Nuova in Rome where his body is venerated.

The choir under the direction of Mr. Thomas Cuffari, sang the Missa Aeterna Christi Munera by Palestrina as well as motets by Victoria.  During the homily Bishop Lori spoke of St. Philip Neri's love of the Mass and Holy Eucharist and the importance of daily communion in our own spiritual lives.

The altar is now decorated with cloths, flowers and candles for the celebration of Mass.

Following Holy Communion the Blessed Sacrament is placed in the new tabernacle.

The chapel is now used each morning for daily Mass and for devotions.
Many thanks to Nick Scutti for the pictures!
